Calculate the target price of a stock based on averages of past years, adjusted for inflation. To do this, find the average of previous years' stock and adjust it for inflation using an inflation calculator (see Resources).
Find the price of storing the commodity. This varies depending on the commodity; grain can be put in a grain elevator, while meat needs to be refrigerated. So, if you are storing grain, you should get in touch with someone who rents out a grain elevator buffer; if you are storing meat, you should get in touch with someone who rents out large-scale refrigerators.
Add the target price to the storage price. Once the commodity reaches this price, you will stop selling and start storing.
Sell from the stored stock when you do not have new supplies but the price is above your price determined in Step 3.
